A Pembroke man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of multiple counts of child rape, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced. David Johnson Jr., 47, will serve 30 to 38 years in prison. Upon release, he will face supervised probation, mandatory sex offender registration and assessment, a ban on contact with minors, and restrictions from working with children, as per a post on the District Attorney for Plymouth County's X account.

The investigation began in May 2021 after victims came forward to Pembroke Police. Johnson was found guilty of four counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child and three counts of Rape of a Child following a six-day trial. He will also be monitored with a GPS device to ensure compliance with exclusion zones.

DA Cruz stated that the victims’ cooperation was essential to the case. The trial was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Beth Kusmin. The victims’ identities are being protected.
