Residents and visitors of Phoenix, take note: the city has released its service schedule for the upcoming Veterans Day holiday. On November 11, in honor of those who served, many city services will observe closures or maintain routine operations, as confirmed in a recent City of Phoenix anouncement.
For those concerned about waste collection, fear not; trash and recycling pickups will proceed without interruption throughout the week. However, the 27th Ave. and North Gateway transfer stations will be non-operational on Tuesday. The Public Works Customer Contact Center plans to close for the day as well, resuming its activities at 7 a.m. sharp on Wednesday, November 12.
Library goers should be aware that all Phoenix Public Library locations, except for South Mountain Community Library, will close for Veterans Day. Despite the closures, the library's book drops and digital resources will remain accessible. Detailed information is available via the library’s website for those eager to continue their literary explorations.
While the city’s parking meters will continue to operate as normal, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., including holidays, certain transportation services will take a brief hiatus. The Ed Pastor, Sunnyslope, and Central Station public transit centers will not be open. Nonetheless, both bus and light rail transit will adhere to their regular service schedules for the convenience of commuters.
Those looking to spend the day outdoors can rest assured that city parks and trails will be welcoming visitors as per usual. Recreational centers, on the other hand, will not be available. Additionally, the S'edav Va'aki Museum will close its doors in observance of the holiday. Park-goers are encouraged to review safety guidelines before heading to the trails.
