A tragic incident unfolded inside a Phoenix apartment over the weekend, resulting in the death of a man following a family dispute. According to reports provided by FOX 10 Phoenix, 58-year-old William Baumgardner suffered fatal gunshot wounds after an argument with his stepson escalated. The shooting occurred in the vicinity of 37th Street and McDowell Road.
Emergency responders were called to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday, where they located Baumgardner wounded inside the apartment. He was promptly taken to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, Bradley Gibson, Baumgardner's 34-year-old stepson, had initially fled after the incident. Eyewitnesses suggest the two were embroiled in a verbal clash that to quickly turn violent when Baumgardner reportedly confronted Gibson, as detailed by AZ Family.
Phoenix police later confirmed that Gibson returned to the apartment, turning himself in.
