The City of Portland announced that garbage, recycling, and compost collection will remain on a regular schedule during Thanksgiving week. Residents with pickup scheduled on Thanksgiving Day are advised to place their bins out by 6 a.m.
In a social media post, the city stated, “We’re thankful for our garbage and recycling collection drivers! And thank YOU for reducing, reusing, and recycling right,” recognizing the work of collection staff and residents’ continued participation in waste-reduction practices.
To help prevent missed collection days, the city directs residents to its website, where they can sign up for free garbage day reminders. More information is available at Portland.gov/GarbageDay.
