Early voting in Ramsey County kicked off on Oct. 17 and will remain available until the general and special elections slated for Nov. 4. Local voters have a variety of items on this round's ballot, including a special election for Senate District 47 and school district elections across multiple districts, such as 282, 621, 622, 623, and 625. In addition to city and school district general races, voters can also participate in a vote-by-mail option by requesting an absentee ballot, which can be returned by mail or at the Plato Building during voting hours, as detailed in a Ramsey County government bulletin.
For those who wish to cast their votes before the official election day, four convenient early voting locations are established across the county, including libraries in Roseville and Shoreville, and the Arlington Hills and North End Community Centers. A reminder for voters: on Nov. 4, the actual Election Day, the protocol requires voting at your designated polling place. Mnvotes.gov provides information on polling locations and offers sample ballots for review. In parallel, Ramsey County residents should be on the lookout for Proposed Property Tax Notices, arriving mid-November, which estimate 2026 property taxes based on current budget proposals.
Ramsey County isn't just about the elections – it's also fostering community engagement through various events and initiatives. In November, the Environmental Center hosts interactive opportunities ranging from an Energy and Electrification Resource Fair, aimed at helping residents understand and reduce utility bills, to a recycling incentive program with $25 gift card prizes up for grabs. Those invested in combating homelessness are invited to attend the Heading Home Ramsey Biannual meeting on Nov. 12, a platform that unites community partners to address housing stability – RSVPs are due by Nov. 5.
Improvements and developments continue to be a priority in the county. Rice Street just saw a phase one reopening celebrated with a community event, and residents are invited to learn about sustainable development at Rice Creek Commons via an informational webinar on Nov. 13. There's also a focus on the well-being of community members, with the YCORe program relaunching to assist youth confronted by substance misuse challenges. Those looking to show support for veterans can take part in Operation Green Light from Nov. 4-11, illuminating buildings green to honor local veterans. As winter approaches, the county also preps residents with Winter Hazard Awareness week and keeps the community informed of road conditions through Ramsey County's social media channels. Finally, Community Corrections is taking a step forward, relocating its Adult Probation office from 800 Minnehaha to downtown Saint Paul's Metro Square.
