City officials have announced that their administrative offices will shut down on Thursday, to celebrate Thanksgiving, and the following day, Friday, will be reserved for Family Day, according to information provided by the City of Reno's news release.
Despite the closures, the city is extending an invitation to its constituents, welcoming all to partake in the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Eager to share the festive spirit, it's set to brighten Reno City Plaza at 7 p.m. on Friday, deepening the communal bonds through a beacon of yuletide joy. In their news release, the city shared, "the public to its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony happening at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, at Reno City Plaza."
For those looking to keep active during the break, take note that all City of Reno recreation facilities and pools will also be observing the holiday pause. The community is encouraged to visit the city’s Parks and Recreation page for more detailed information on the temporary hiatus.
