Feast & Fettle, a company specializing in premium prepared meals, is expanding its operations into Maryland with a new facility in Howard County, according to an announcement from Governor Wes Moore. The Rhode Island-based meal delivery service will be establishing a 25,000-square-foot production and distribution center at 7071 Dorsey Run Road in Elkridge, FOX Baltimore reported.
The expansion is anticipated to generate approximately 250 full-time jobs over the next three years, highlighting the company's growth since its inception by a private chef in 2016. In line with their original mission, Feast & Fettle continues to emphasize the importance of high-quality ingredients and handcrafted meals, and maintains hospitality both within the company and towards its customers. Governor Wes Moore was quoted as expressing the dual benefit of the company's expansion, noting that "While the company is focused on providing healthy meals for its customers, it is also dedicated to providing access to free meals through its community partners." This approach aligns with Maryland's efforts to support businesses that contribute to local communities, especially in times of need, as referenced by WMAR-2 News.
Financial backing for the project includes a $1 million conditional loan provided by the Maryland Department of Commerce through Advantage Maryland. Additional support comes from the Howard County Economic Development Authority, which has offered a $500,000 loan to bolster working capital and a $100,000 reimbursable grant dedicated to workforce training.
