This morning, a gunshot detection system alerted the Richmond Police Department to a shooting on Bissell Avenue, a tragedy that resulted in the death of one adult victim. According to a social media post from the Richmond Police Department, the ShotSpotter system, coupled with calls from nearby residents, signaled the violent occurrence at approximately 5:55 AM in the 1400 block area.
Officers who quickly responded to the alert found a person suffering from gunshot wounds, and despite their efforts to save this life, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
