
The Saint Paul Police Department's Canine Unit has recently garnered the USPCA 2025 Tim Jones Memorial Award, a significant achievement that not only highlights the skilled canines and their handlers but also pays homage to the late Officer Tim Jones and his K9 partner, Laser. According to a social media post by the Saint Paul Police Department, the award was secured by a team comprising Officer Campbell and K9 Doc, Officer House and K9 Brick, Officer Meier and K9 Smokey, and Officer Spear and K9 Max.
Alongside the top team accolade the individual pairs also achieved notable rankings in various categories, exemplifying the effectiveness of their training and partnership amidst the competition, with Officer Spear and K9 Max taking third place in Criminal Apprehension, while Officer Campbell and K9 Doc, and Officer Meier and K9 Smokey clinched fourth and fifth places respectively in the Top Total Search Team, and the K9 duos of Campbell and Doc, and Meier and Smokey also featured in the top rankings for Top Overall Performance, demonstrating the consistent proficiency through the ranks in the various challenges laid out which they faced.
