In Tenderloin, swift action by the San Francisco Police Department led to the arrest of a suspect in an attempted homicide case. On Wednesday at 7:57 PM, chaos erupted on the 100 block of Eddy Street. According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire, facing down the remnants of a dispute that had escalated drastically. Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered two individuals caught in the aftermath of an altercation turned violent.
The police were informed that what began as a verbal argument had spiraled into physical conflict, culminating in the brandishing and discharge of a firearm by the suspect. Remarkably, however, the gunfire did not result in reported injuries to either of the victims. The perpetrator had fled the site by the time police arrived, yet her freedom was to be short-lived. With the aid of the Real Time Investigation Center (RTIC), authorities were able to zero in on the suspect. In proximity to Cyril Magnin and Eddy Streets, Katelyn Williams, a 34-year-old individual, was apprehended. A firearm was also located and seized as part of the operation.
Williams now faces serious charges, including attempted murder under 664/187 PC, carrying a concealed weapon as specified in 25400(a)(1) PC, negligent discharge of a firearm per 246.3 PC, and brandishing a firearm as detailed under 417 PC. She was booked into the San Francisco County Jail.
Authorities are seeking anyone with additional information on this incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
