In a recent crackdown on drugs in correctional facilities, San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies intercepted an attempt to smuggle approximately 86 grams of suspected cocaine into the Maguire Correctional Facility on Monday. The deputies arrested Jazz R. Svarda, age 36, on an existing felony warrant, as posted by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office on Facebook.
Authorities confirmed the sizable find occurred around 11 AM, when deputies patrolling Millbrae took Svarda into custody, thereby leveraging the Sheriff's Office's advanced body scanning technology to thwart the contraband's entry. The booking process revealed Svarda's illicit payload, part of which featured nearly 76 grams of cocaine with an additional 10 grams discovered but not photographed.
With booking charges encompassing HS 11351, HS 11351.5, PC 4573(a), and PC 148.9, the magnitude of these charges reflects the serious implications of Svarda's actions.
