Two individuals have been arrested following a burglary and subsequent traffic stop in San Mateo, with officers seizing a haul of drugs, paraphernalia, and burglary tools, according to the San Mateo Police Department. According to the San Mateo Police Department's Facebook page, the burglary occurred last Friday at an apartment complex on S. Delaware Street, where thousands of dollars' worth of tools and equipment were reported stolen.
The suspects made their escape in a U-Haul pickup truck, which was later detected by an automated license plate reader as it traveled through the city the following day. Conducting a felony traffic stop, officers apprehended the two suspects at the Hillsdale Mall last Saturday. The driver, identified as Vincent Williams, was discovered to have an outstanding felony warrant, and the passenger, after initially providing police with false information, was identified as Jessica Pappalardo. With Pappalardo being found to be on probation with search terms, officers searched and found drugs, a stun gun, and a digital scale, amongst other illegal items.
Police charged Williams with multiple violations, including first-degree burglary and possession of narcotics with prior convictions. Pappalardo faced charges for providing false information to an officer and possession of drugs for sale. The discoveries during the vehicle stop directly linked the duo to the previously reported burglary, with Williams also being associated with the use of the U-Haul truck through rental agreement documents.
