The Leisure Services Department is bringing outdoor movie nights into the winter season with a special holiday screening. “Movies by Moonlight” is scheduled for December 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Sandy Creek Park, inviting the community to gather for a festive evening outdoors. According to the official announcement, the evening will feature the beloved 2018 holiday film, "Dr. Seuss' The Grinch."
The event offers a no-cost opportunity to join in the festivities. Park gates will open at 5:15 p.m. with free admission. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for comfortable viewing on the lawn, where the movie will be screened. To help fend off the December chill, staffed fire pits and complimentary s’mores will be available for attendees.
Although no food will be sold at the event, attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks and picnic items. Complimentary hot beverages will be available to help keep guests warm throughout the evening. Restrooms will be open, and park staff will be on hand to guide visitors to the designated viewing area. According to event organizers, children must be accompanied by an adult, as noted by the county's website.
Attendees are expected to follow all standard park regulations, including keeping dogs leashed and refraining from alcohol, smoking, and the use of grills. Organizers note that no registration is required for the event; guests can simply arrive with their blankets and chairs and settle in for an evening of entertainment under the stars.
