The driver involved in the crash reportedly remained at the scene, had not been impaired, and cooperated fully with the authorities, who were to try swiftly to gather details about the crash.
As the investigation into this fatal incident continues, the Austin Police Department encourages anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation. Witnesses or anyone with relevant details can contact the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit, or information can be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program, as highlighted by CBS Austin.
The crash not only signifies a personal tragedy for Gonzalo's family and friends, but it also reflects a troubling trend in urban traffic incidents. As the city comes to terms with yet another loss of life on its streets, many are left to question what more can be to do prevent such incidents from recurring."
