The Georgia Department of Corrections has appointed Sheryl Moore as the new Deputy Warden of Administration at Lee Arrendale State Prison, effective today. Moore previously served as an Accounting Technician III and has extensive experience in correctional finance and administration, as per the Georgia Department of Corrections release.
According to Commissioner Tyrone Oliver, Moore has gained significant correctional knowledge through various administrative roles. In her new position, she will oversee the business office, property and supply operations, and food service departments.
Moore began her state service career in 1997 as an Accounting Clerk at the Gainesville Diversion Center. She later held roles such as Paraprofessional Accountant and Center Business Manager before transferring to Lee Arrendale State Prison and Transitional Center. The Georgia Department of Corrections stated that her promotion reflects her continued advancement within the agency.
Moore holds an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Gainesville College and pursued further studies at the University of North Georgia. Her professional training includes certifications in purchasing, governmental accounting, and management. Lee Arrendale State Prison houses approximately 900 female offenders.
