St. Charles Parish has announced several road closures and construction updates that will impact traffic in the coming weeks. Drivers in Destrehan should note that Jonathan Street will remain closed until further notice, with emergency traffic being redirected to Bunge’s heavy haul road for Noel Street access, as detailed in a statement from the St. Charles Parish website.
Ormond Center Court is also experiencing closures, from 150 Ormond Center Court to 3001 Ormond Blvd, due to road construction. A detour has been set up to guide vehicle traffic through the affected area. As the landscape of our roadways evolves with ongoing works, locals are nudging one another with patience and adaptation.
For those traveling on LA 628 (CC Road), they will encounter a continuous full closure from 7 AM on August 4 until 10 PM on November 21, for work related to the Montz Pump Station Permit Project and associated road construction. During this period, motorists can take alternate routes such as US 61, LA 3217, or LA 628 (River Road), according to the St. Charles Parish website.
Additionally, LA 18 (River Road) will see full closures westbound and eastbound from November 10 until November 21, between 8 AM and 4:30 PM daily, for the installation of an overhead pipe bridge. Detour options include LA 3127 or US 90, with signage in place to assist navigation.
Starting Monday, November 3, LA 3127 between the St. James Parish Line and the St. Charles Parish Line will have intermittent and alternating lane closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting, through Friday, October 30, 2026. Oversized loads will be restricted to 12 feet in width, and east- and westbound motorists can use detours via LA 3213, LA 641, and I-10. Additional route details are available on the St. Charles Parish website.
