St. Charles Parish officials have announced that all government buildings will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, Dec. 1, according to St. Charles Parish's website.
River Birch Renewable Energy, which manages waste collection in St. Charles Parish, will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27. Regular trash collection services and office operations will resume on Monday, Dec. 1, at 8 a.m.
The upcoming closures are more than just a break from work. They reflect a community tradition, allowing employees and local services time to give thanks and rest. As much of St. Charles slows down—and prepares for holiday celebrations—residents are advised to plan for any urgent government errands or trash collection needs. And so, as the parish descends into the short quiet of holiday time, remember these alterations to your routines. Keep an eye on what day it is when you haul your bins to the curb or when you head out to handle some paperwork. Things will be back to a bustling normal before you know it, but until then, plan accordingly, and maybe enjoy the brief lull in the otherwise constant rush of parish life.
