The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office (CAO) concluded its Citizens Academy on Thursday, recognizing 19 residents who completed the six-week program. The program provided participants with an overview of crime investigation, legal charges, victim services, and the prosecution process in St. Louis.
According to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office, participants attended sessions that included roundtable discussions, legal seminars, and visits to locations such as the Real Time Crime Center and the Metro Police Department Crime Lab. The program was led by Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore with guidance from Community Engagement Director Leann Mosby.
Graduates applied their learning during a mock trial, acting as jurors to practice legal concepts. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office said the Citizens Academy is part of its ongoing efforts to increase community understanding of the justice system, with future sessions planned.
