El Paso residents can look forward to a mild and mostly sunny week ahead, according to the National Weather Service. Interestingly enough, today's sunny skies will give way to a high near 69 degrees, with a calm west wind moving at 3 to 6 mph. Tonight, El Pasoans should expect the weather to shift slightly, with partly cloudy conditions and lows around 41 degrees.
In a detailed forecast, the National Weather Service reports a mostly sunny Sunday with highs dipping to near 58. The light and variable wind will become east at 9 to 14 mph in the evening, with potential gusts reaching as high as 20 mph. By Monday, the weather will clear up again, with a forecast of mostly sunny skies and a high near 64, where the wind chill will likely drop temperatures a couple of degrees.
Into the work week, Tuesday will remain sunny with a high once again approaching 64 degrees. A calm wind in the morning will pick up, becoming west southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. This pattern will largely hold through to Wednesday, with temperatures peaking at around 65 degrees and wind speeds maintaining their gentle pace at 3 to 7 mph.
However, the latter half of the week indicates some changes, with a 20 percent chance of showers on Wednesday night, turning into a 30 percent chance of showers by Thursday. Thursday night, we're looking at mostly cloudy skies and again a 20 percent chance of showers, says the NWS. Residents should plan for these possible showers, which may lead to cooler temperatures during the night and disrupt otherwise clear conditions.
Wrapping up the week, Friday is predicted to be mostly sunny with a high near 60 degrees. It is recommended for people to enjoy the upcoming pleasant weather, considering the possibility of rain later on.
