
A 36-year-old man was arrested by the Honolulu Police Department on suspicion of first-degree robbery, according to reports from KHON2, following an incident in a Waikīkī restaurant on the night of Thursday. The establishment, which was closed to the public at the time, is located on Ala Moana Boulevard and saw a frightening disruption of peace when the alleged perpetrator is said to have brandished what appeared to be a firearm at two employees, police said.
One worker escaped unharmed, while another was assaulted and had personal belongings stolen. Authorities apprehended the suspect at the scene. His identity has not been released, and he now faces serious charges, Hawaii News Now reports.
No injuries were reported beyond the assault. Authorities ask anyone with information to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300.
