The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is currently probing the events that led to a fatal officer-involved shooting this past Saturday in Carter County. The incident, which unfolded in the early afternoon on a residential block in Johnson City, resulted in the death of a gunman after a standoff with local sheriff's deputies, as reported by the TBI newsroom.
Deputies from the Carter County Sheriff's Office had originally been dispatched to the 100 block of Jarrett-Buck Loop following a call regarding vandalism. Upon arrival, deputies encountered an armed individual who had barricaded himself inside a home.
