The Village Police Department has taken to social media to remind citizens of the dangers of drunk driving after arresting an individual for aggravated DUI. In a Facebook post, the department described a routine traffic enforcement encounter that led to a significant arrest.
According to the department's post, the stopped individual was found to have an alcohol concentration almost two and a half times over, the legal limit. "While enforcing traffic laws our officer came in contact with this individual who was arrested for aggravated DUI." the post reads. The Police Department emphasized, "The individual blew almost two and a half times over the legal limit. Please do not drink and drive. Doing so puts not only you at risk but everyone else on the road."
In their message, the Village Police Department also noted there are plenty of safer alternatives to get home without resorting to impaired driving. They underscored that there is "no excuse for this" behavior when numerous other options are readily available. The department's warning is clear: drunk driving is an avoidable offence that needlessly risks lives, "Please do not drink and drive. Doing so puts not only you at risk but everyone else on the road."
