Commuters on I-10 westbound near Anthony can expect to significantly slow down as the highway has been narrowed to one lane, following a traffic incident earlier today. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert via social media, informing the public of the incident and the ongoing investigation.
According to the Facebook post by El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, North Desert Boulevard will also remain closed from the Westway exit to the Anthony exit, urging drivers to consider alternate routes to avoid getting stuck in the expected backups. "The closure is anticipated to last several hours—please plan accordingly and use alternate routes," the Sheriff's Office noted.
Traffic disruptions like these not only test the patience of drivers but can also ripple out, affecting local businesses and the timely arrival of goods and services. With the investigation in full swing, no information has been provided on the cause of the accident or when the full reopening of the I-10 westbound will occur.
