In a recent incident disclosed by the Tulsa Police Department on social media, a man identified as Michael Jordan was apprehended with a stolen firearm. This event transpired on Wednesday, when, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers patrolling near 3rd and Cheyenne noticed a male figure maneuvering a scooter with a conspicuous yellow suitcase in tow. The situation took a curious turn when Jordan approached and attempted to hastily take possession of the suitcase.
An ensuing inquiry by officers soon revealed the suitcase to belong to Jordan, who initially passed it to the scooter rider before trying, unsuccessfully, to retrieve it. As the investigation unfolded, it became apparent that the suitcase concealed a semi-automatic pistol, previously reported as stolen from a vehicle burglary at a near Tulsa Hills motel. According to the Tulsa Police Department's post, this theft occurred just two weeks before the arrest.
Jordan's apprehension resulted in a litany of legal charges, inclusive of Possession of a Firearm AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony), Obstruction, and Possession of Stolen Property AFCF. Notably, the individual associated with the scooter was not detained and was swiftly released from the scene. It's worth reiterating that despite the familiar name, the individual in question is not to be confused with the famous basketball icon.
The Tulsa Police Department clarified, ''This is an arrest, not a conviction,'' indicating that legal proceedings will determine Jordan's culpability. The department informed the community promptly about the incident, emphasizing transparency in sharing developments related to stolen property and firearm-related offenses.
