The organization issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to runner's safety, "Participant safety is our top priority," recognized the swift action of emergency personnel, "We are profoundly grateful to the medical professionals and emergency personnel who responded with such care and professionalism," as obtained by WISHTV. Despite these precautions, the loss of life casts a shadow over the racing event.
As competitors and the community process the gravity of these events, WTHR notes that Beyond Monumental did not withhold acknowledging the race's achievers. Joseph Whelan shattered previous records with an unofficial course record of 2 hours, 12 minutes, and 29 seconds, while Amanda Mosborg claimed victory in the women’s category, finishing in 2 hours, 32 minutes, and 1 second.
