Tragedy struck in Brookfield on Thursday evening as two senior citizens were killed in a head-on collision. The accident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. near Springdale Road and Capitol Drive, where a 91-year-old Brookfield man and an 87-year-old Brookfield woman, both local to the area, lost their lives. A third person, involved in the crash, was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive, as reported by WISN.
The impact of the crash led to the closure of a portion of Capitol Drive between Barker Road and Springdale Road. The road remained closed for several hours, reopening around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday.
