The University of Cincinnati is pushing ahead with its digital makeover, now in full swing with a slew of new AI initiatives. Called Bearcat AI Ready!, the program is a comprehensive plan to integrate artificial intelligence within the university’s academic, research, and administrative domains.
Announced by UC Vice President & Chief Digital Officer Bharath Prabhakaran, the initiative is designed to bolster UC's footing in AI. "Our goal is to transform UC from ‘AI-fluent’ to truly ‘AI-ready,'" he said in a statement provided to the university's news site. As part of this push, students, faculty, and staff will find themselves at the helm of innovative AI tools intended to upscale the institution's academic stature and refine operational processes.
The university is fostering an environment for AI adoption through the AI Enablement Community of Practice, a joint venture that collaborates with UC Digital Technology Solutions (DTS). They lead the charge on AI enablement and facilitating best practices across various academic disciplines.
"Bearcat AI Ready! is about empowerment — giving every Bearcat the confidence and capability to use, build and shape AI responsibly," Josette Riep, Assistant Vice President for Integrated Data Engineering & Application Solutions, told the university's news site. Anticipating expanded capabilities and further updates, UC is committed to leading the way into a future where artificial intelligence is seamlessly integrated into the fabric of higher education.
