Residents of the normally quiet neighborhood of Rolling Sage Circle in Vacaville were jolted awake last Friday by the sound of gunfire. According to a social media post by the Vacaville Police Department, the sound of at least 15 gunshots was reported to dispatchers at approximately 11:39 PM. The post details that officers arrived on the scene to find multiple bullet casings scattered in the street and at least one house damaged by the bullets. No physical injuries were reported among the residents.
The investigation, now in the hands of the Vacaville PD, has revealed that the suspects involved were adult males who had fled in a vehicle before police arrival. It appears to be an isolated incident, and authorities have opined that there is no ongoing threat to the public. "The Vacaville Police Department treats incidents of this nature with the utmost seriousness," the Vacaville PD's statement read.
The department has asked witnesses and those with information to come forward to aid the investigation.
