Victoria area drivers, take note: There's an upcoming disruption set to impact your routes. Westbound Highway 18 is getting a short-term closure between Victoria Greens Boulevard and Kochia Lane starting on December 1st, Carver County Public Works announced. This is to let crews handle sewer work necessary for the new Victoria Fire Station, with the interruption expected to last up to three weeks, weather allowing.
The traffic change is surely a minor inconvenience for locals; nevertheless, a signed detour is in place to help drivers navigate around the closure, guiding westbound traffic along Bavaria Road to 86th Street, and then back onto Kochia Lane so those familiar commutes aren't too disrupted and drivers can manage their everyday travel with just a bit more planning and possibly some patience.
For Victoria residents anticipating the opening of the new Victoria Fire Station, this infrastructure project marks one of the tangible steps towards its completion.
