Watertown officials, with support from the FBI Human Trafficking Task Force, conducted inspections at six Body Works establishments to ensure compliance with state and city regulations. The operation was led by the Watertown Health Department, zoning and building departments, and the Massachusetts Occupational Licensing Division, as per the Watertown Police Department's Facebook post.
All six businesses were found not meeting regulatory standards and were closed until they can demonstrate compliance. During the inspections, employees were provided with resources including victim assistance information, outreach contacts, and guidance for reporting concerns related to exploitation or unsafe working conditions.
The city continues to enforce regulations to ensure businesses operate legally and protect individuals from unsafe or exploitative practices.
