Travelers in Herculaneum, get ready for a detour this weekend. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced that McNutt Street under I-55 will be closed for a bridge demolition project. The closures will run from 9 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday. MoDOT has shifted traffic onto a new bridge over McNutt Street, clearing the way for the old northbound bridge to come down.
All I-55 lanes will remain open during the McNutt Street Bridge demolition, but drivers on McNutt Street will need to follow detours. West of I-55, take southbound I-55 to Veterans Blvd eastbound, then US 61/67 north, and west on McNutt Street back to northbound I-55. East of I-55, use northbound I-55 to Route Z westbound, then southbound I-55.
