Brace yourselves, drivers of Jackson County, for a bit of a detour on your usual route this coming weekend. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is rolling up its sleeves to undertake some necessary repairs and you're going to need to pay attention to the updated traffic script. On. December 5, starting at 7 p.m., and stretching into the early hours of December 6, till 6 a.m., specific ramps on I-70 and Missouri Route 9 will be out of commission, according to an announcement from MoDOT.

If your journey usually includes the southbound MO 9 exit ramp at 3rd St. onto either direction of the I-70/I-35, you'll need to reroute. The ramp will be closed to all traffic. In addition, both the eastbound I-70 ramp to I-35/I-29 northbound and the ramp to Independence Ave are also taking a night off. The repairs are set, but as always, Missouri’s fickle weather holds a wildcard - work will go forward, weather permitting.

Drivers are reminded to slow down and stay alert in and around work zones. MoDOT notes that work zones may involve different activities, such as road striping, repairs, or vegetation maintenance. Temporary lane closures may also occur to allow crews to complete these tasks.

For updates or more information, drivers should check MoDOT’s official communications or visit their website.
