
Yesterday morning, a serious car crash occurred in the North Riverfront area, resulting in severe injuries to a woman driving a black Nissan Sentra. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's District 6 officers were called to the intersection of N. Broadway and Humboldt at approximately 3:40AM, following reports of an accident, as stated on the SLMPD official website.
Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found the vehicle had collided with, and overturned after striking an electric traffic signal. The driver, an adult female, was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash. She was found to be in a dire state, with injuries so severe, that the EMS had to transport her to a local hospital where she remains in critical and unstable condition, as reported by the SLMPD.
Accident Reconstruction Investigators have taken charge of the investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident. The ongoing investigation has led to a tentative identification of the victim, although the process of notifying next of kin is still pending.
The authorities have not yet released any further information about the investigation or the condition of the injured driver. The SLMPD asks anyone with information related to the crash to come forward and assist in the reconstruction of events.
