The pattern that has emerged involves the perpetrators approaching seniors as they walk along the street, engaging them in conversation before snatching away their neck-worn jewelry and making an escape.
According to the department's social media post, there have been multiple incidents where these unidentified individuals have preyed upon vulnerable elderly individuals committing these unarmed robberies using a vehicle to quickly flee the scene, and in all cases the suspects have distracted their victims with casual dialogue before abruptly taking their jewelry.
The police department encourages anyone with information or those who have been victims of similar crimes to step forward.
