The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, in collaboration with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, has arrested 21-year-old Dakota Taylor on allegations involving the death of her 8-month-old child. According to an official statement from the GBI, Taylor, a resident of Wrens, Georgia, has been charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, and First-Degree Cruelty to Children.
The initial request for assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to GBI was made on January 8, pertaining to an investigation at a residence in Matthews, Georgia, where the infant was found unresponsive. Tragically, after being rushed to a local hospital, the child passed away. Taylor's arrest took place on Thusday. As reported by the GBI, she was already being detained in McDuffie County Jail on separate charges related to a different child death investigation in DeKalb County, Georgia.
The GBI's Regional Investigative Office in Thomson is currently heading the active and ongoing investigation into these distressing events.
