Wright County voters are gearing up for Election Day, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, where the spotlight is on the Senate District 29 special election, along with a variety of local school district ballot referendums. With voter turnout a primary focus, the Wright County Elections department is making strides to ensure ample opportunity for the electorate to cast their ballots early. According to a notice from Wright County Elections, early voting is currently available at the Wright County Government Center, located at 3650 Braddock Ave. NE.
In an effort to accommodate varying schedules, the Government Center has extended its operating hours. Early birds can get their voting done this Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The center will also keep its doors open until 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, the eve of Election Day. Informing the county's constituents, the Elections department has recommended voters to "review a sample ballot to see which contests will be on their ballot for Tuesday’s election," as detailed in a press release found on Wright County's official website.
For the majority, voting will take place at their usual polling stations on Election Day, with operating hours from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. However, a select number of Wright County citizens residing outside Senate District 29 are slated to vote at combined polling places for the local school ballot referendum. Wright County Elections is urging all voters to "verify their polling place location prior to heading to the polls" to prevent any day-of confusion and ensure a smooth voting process.
On a separate note, residents of South Haven who're planning to cast their vote on Election Day will need to make their way to the Wright County Government Center. Once there, they should be looking for the Taxpayer Services counter to fulfill their electoral duty. This arrangement is exclusive to South Haven folks, as outlined by county election officials, aiming to facilitate a seamless voting experience for all involved.
