A tragic shooting in Dutchtown has claimed the life of a young St. Louis City resident, identified as 22-year-old Brayan Aparicio. The incident, which occurred last night, November 9, prompted an immediate response from District 1 officers after a call came in just before 11:30PM citing gunfire at S. Grand and Meramec. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Aparicio with gunshot wounds while in the passenger seat of a silver Toyota sedan, reports SLMPD.
Notable at the scene Aparicio's girlfriend, who was fortunately unharmed; she briefed officers stating that the shooting actually took place in the 3600 block of Dunnica, and in a frantic attempt for help, they had driven to the location where police later located them. It was there that the officers found Aparicio unresponsive revealing a grim escalation of urban gun violence that often tears through the fabric of our communities unnanounced and with a ferocity that spares no thought for the morrow.
Emergency Medical Services swiftly attended to Aparicio, transporting him to a nearby hospital where a medical team ultimately pronounced him deceased. In the wake of this tragedy, Homicide Detectives have taken over the investigation, piecing together the circumstances surrounding Aparicio's final moments and searching for those responsible for this violent act. Homicide detectives are calling on witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
