The Adrian Police Department is actively seeking a suspect following a robbery at an Advance America cash advance location earlier this month. According to surveillance footage, the incident occurred at 2 p.m. on Dec. 5 at 1422 S Main Street in Adrian. ClickOnDetroit reports that the man brandished a black pistol and demanded cash from the establishment's employees and safe, with the alarming statement, "My kids need this."

Reportedly, the suspect made off with approximately $5,000 in cash and was last seen fleeing on foot eastward along the building's exterior. Described as a white male standing around 5'5" to 5'6" tall, his escape was swift; taking only about six minutes for the whole operation. The Adrian Police, as WLNS states, attempted to track him with a K-9 unit but to no avail.

With the suspect still at large, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. In a statement obtained by MLive, the police have disseminated contact details for Detective J. Michael Gentner, who can be reached at 517-264-4887 or via email at [email protected]. Additionally, tips can be shared with the Adrian Police Department directly through their dedicated email [email protected], or anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.
