The Alameda County Sheriff's Office has issued a renewed call for tips in the cold case of Kenneth Jeffery, a 25-year-old mechanic who was murdered over three decades ago. On a grim Thursday night in December 1988, Jeffery's life was brutally cut short when he was gunned down in his car on East 14th Street & Thrush Avenue in Unincorporated San Leandro.
Details of the case shared by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office recount that Jeffery, employed as a mechanic at T&C Racing, was sitting in his 1986 grey Maxima when an assailant shot him multiple times. The tragedy unfolded in the left-hand lane at a busy intersection, yet the assailant's identity has eluded law enforcement despite exhaustive investigations.
