Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, joined by entertainer and philanthropist Ciara, announced a major donation aimed at addressing food insecurity in the city. Most of Ciara’s contribution will support the Atlanta Community Food Bank, with a significant portion designated for ATL Cares’ food distribution programs.
The announcement, attended by Councilmembers Eshé Collins and Jason Dozier, comes as many Atlanta residents face food insecurity. Atlanta Community Food Bank President and CEO Kyle Waide, along with Reverend Eric Thomas of Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church, highlighted the impact such donations have on local services. Media representatives were notified of the event through an official RSVP request sent to [email protected], according to the City of Atlanta.
Food insecurity remains a challenge in Atlanta, affecting residents’ access to nutritious food. Donations like Ciara’s provide support to local organizations working to address this issue.
