Atlanta law enforcement continues to relentlessly search for 24-year-old Dameyon Heck, a suspect that remains at large following a deadly shooting incident on Alison Court. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Heck is connected to the October 18 murder that occurred at a Valero gas station situated at the corner of Alison Court and Delowe Drive. The victim, now identified as Michael Lay, age 33, suffered fatal gunshot wounds in the attack.
The hunt for Heck has intensified after the recent arrest of a second suspect, Ranique Crawford, apprehended in Brooklyn, New York, last Thursday. Officials, working cooperatively among the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the New York Police Department, and the Atlanta Police Department Fugitive Unit, have charged Crawford with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy to commit a felony. He currently awaits extradition back to Atlanta. It was previously reported by Atlanta News First that Tremeico Watson, officer apprehended 20 years old, on November 4 on traffic offenses with subsequent charges of murder and related felonies following further investigation by the Homicide Unit.
Atlanta police described Heck as 5 feet 7 inches in height, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. However, details regarding how Heck is connected to the shooting, a possible motive, or his alleged role in the crime have not yet been made publicly available by authorities. There's also no word on how many individuals may have been involved in the shooting, whether any surveillance footage exists, or if the weapon used has been recovered.
