During the early hours of Christmas Eve, a gunshot incident sent one man to the hospital with an injury to his lower body, sparking a police investigation that remains unresolved as the holiday engulfs the city in its yearly cheer. According to a preliminary release shared by the Atlanta Police Department, the victim was found at 80 Jesse Hill Jr. Dr SE, despite claiming the shooting occurred at a different location.
Officers received the call at approximately 12:19am and arrived to discover the individual had already begun receiving medical treatment for what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury to his buttocks. The victim, while treated at the scene for a gun wound, was unable to provide additional details about the occurrence that led to his injury. This lack of information continues to hinder the investigative process.
Police efforts to piece together the events of the previous evening led them back to 100 Fulton St. SE, the reported site of the shooting. However, attempts to establish a crime scene or corroborate the account were unsuccessful. Officers found no cartridge casings or eyewitnesses who could describe the incident, leaving investigators with limited information. The investigation, as per the police department, “continues.”
