The City of Ballwin is stepping up once again to show its dedication to community support through the Mayors for Meals campaign, benefiting the St. Louis Area Foodbank. In an announcement made on their social media page, officials laid out their plan to combat food insecurity in the region with a little help from the locals. Starting from last Wednesday, December 10, and running through December 23, Ballwin invites its residents to drop off non-perishable food items at the government center.
In an effort to bridge this divide "every can, box, and bag of food goes directly to families in the St. Louis region who could use a little extra support," Ballwin officials emphasize on City of Ballwin Facebook page. Even modest donations, such as a can of beans or a box of pasta, can make a meaningful impact for those in need. The collection is open during regular business hours, allowing residents to contribute before work, during lunch, or after the workday ends.
Ballwin encourages everyone to participate. In the words of their Facebook announcement, "Let's come together and show what a caring community can do." City officials said the donation drive is nearing its midpoint and encouraged residents to continue participating. Information about acceptable donations and the drop-off location at the Ballwin Government Center is available through the city’s social media channels.
