A Blue Ash man is now facing grave federal charges after cameras were allegedly discovered hidden within the confines of a home where minors resided, these devices surreptitiously placed to capture private moments, revealed a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The accused, identified as 32-year-old David Mitsnefes, has been ensnared by the law with accusations of child exploitation and pornography that date back to 2021, and it is alleged that he has been saving videos of minor victims to his iPhone via wifi, where they were recorded in various states of undress, the past incidents leading up to a hearing scheduled today at 1:30 pm in federal court in Cincinnati.

November of this year marked a turn in the investigation, with the family's Ring security system capturing images of a suspect fitting Mitsnefes's description, donned in a dark hoodie and pants, allegedly entering the home during the family's absence. A follow-up investigation into Mitsnefes's electronic possessions unveiled a disturbing collection of videos of the victims and an assemblage of other child sexual abuse materials, which had reportedly been obtained from online sources, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Action against Mitsnefes has been initiated by federal authorities, with U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II, alongside FBI's Cincinnati Division head Jason Cromartie, and Blue Ash Police Chief Roger Pohlman among others forming a united front in the battle to protect the most vulnerable, the pursuit for justice culminating in charges announced on December 17, "A criminal complaint merely contains allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law," the press release clarified the current legal stance.
