The City of Boston announced that 100 new Equity and Inclusion Ambassadors have completed the 2025 E&I Academy series. Participants from various city departments attended the full-day E&I Academy Summit, which focused on promoting equitable practices and serving residents fairly.

The Summit included keynote workshops, breakout sessions, and interactive activities designed to strengthen equity practices across Boston's municipal workforce. According to the City of Boston, Mariangely Solis Cervera, the City's Chief of Equity and Inclusion, said, "This E&I Academy is building a City for Everyone by providing staff with the tools, history, and best practices to help us do better by our residents every single day."

The summit also featured a Capstone Project Launch, giving new Ambassadors a chance to apply E&I tools and concepts in projects to be presented in 2026. These projects emphasize sustainable practices and cross-departmental collaboration to support equity initiatives across Boston's communities.

With the latest graduates, the E&I Academy now has 217 Ambassadors trained in equitable practices, a significant increase since 2023. According to the City of Boston news release, Participants are expected to promote equity and inclusion in their work across Boston's municipal operations. Flo Glynn, E&I Program Administrator, said, "I am honored to learn with our E&I Ambassadors every year to actively and even more impactfully create a City for Everyone."

The initiative is part of the Equity and Inclusion Cabinet’s efforts to equip City employees with tools to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace. It emphasizes ongoing education and employee engagement in promoting equity across Boston’s municipal operations.
