A one-vehicle crash in Morrison County has left a man hospitalized and a juvenile with minor injuries. The accident happened on Sunday evening, around 7:13 pm, at the intersection of 140th Avenue and 20th Street, which is situated about two miles southeast of Bowlus, MN, according to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office. The collision involved a pickup truck and a trailer, and the subsequent events unfolded into an unfortunate mishap.
The driver, identified as 55-year-old Sean Kelly of Burtrum, MN, was traveling north on 140th Avenue when the trailer he was pulling began to fishtail. In the midst of pulling the trailer, it ended up jack-knifing, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into a tree after descending an embankment. As reported by the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, Kelly was transported to St. Cloud Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance, his condition nebulous with injuries undisclosed.
There was also a 17-year-old juvenile male in the vehicle at the time of the accident, who sustained only minor injuries. Thankfully, after being treated at the scene, he was released, escaping a more grievous fate. This information was relayed by the Morrison County Sheriff's Office in their report of the incident.
Responding to the emergency, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was supported by multiple agencies, including the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Bowlus Fire Department, Bowlus First Response Team, and the Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
