
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has taken the lead in a grim case unfolding in Granby, as they delve into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 38-year-old local woman. According to CBI, the Granby Police Department, Grand County Sheriff's Office, and the Grand County Coroner are contributing resources in an assistive capacity to the investigation.
It was just past noon when authorities were summoned to the area near the USDA Forest Service Sulphur Ranger District Office, situated at 9 Ten Mile Drive West. An initial account from a witness described a disturbing scene where two men were seen forcibly moving a woman into a car. This same individual then observed one of the men transporting the victim to the Middle Park Health Emergency Room directly across from the Forest Service's office. The CBI reported that the call came in around 12:05 p.m.
The woman, whose identity has yet to be released, suffered significant injuries before she arrived at the emergency room. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she was pronounced deceased at 1:02 p.m. The cause of her injuries and subsequent death is currently under investigative scrutiny, as authorities piece together the moments leading up to this tragic event.
