Chandler's elder community is set to receive a boost in online safety this January, thanks to the city's Golden Neighbors program. Residents aged 55 and above are invited to partake in two educational events focussed on fraud prevention and internet security, both important topics in an increasingly digital age. The initiative is a part of the city's ongoing efforts to support its senior population.

The first session, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, from 9:30–11 a.m., will be hosted at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center and features AARP representatives who will delve into the Fraud Watch NetworkTM. Participants at this event will gain insights into how to identify and sidestep scams. The latter event, taking place Thursday, Jan. 22, from the same timeframe also at the Innovation Center, is a collaborative effort with Chandler Police and Information Technology staff from the city, aiming to educate on fraud awareness and online safety measures.

Chandler's seniors interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP. They can secure their spots either by visiting the Chandler Golden Neighbors website, calling 480-782-4362, or emailing the Neighborhood Programs staff. Responding in advance will ensure the organizers can accommodate all interested parties efficiently and provide them with the necessary resources for an engaging and enlightening experience.

The Golden Neighbors program seeks to bridge the gap between Chandler elders and the array of services offered by the city and local nonprofits, crafting a network of support and community spirit. Those in search of more details about the program or interested in contributing can visit the Chandler Golden Neighbors for further information. These events represent an ongoing commitment to empower the city's senior residents, helping them navigate the complexities of the modern world with confidence and security.
