In Chesterfield, Missouri, the Police Department is swapping their handcuffs for candy canes, at least metaphorically, as they take to social media to celebrate Gingerbread House Day. In a cheerful post on their Facebook page, the department announced an invitation to the public to share their homemade gingerbread houses in the comments section, adding a dash of festive competition to the mix. According to the Chesterfield Missouri Police Department's post, the creation that garners the most likes by December 15 will win a "FREE station tour of the Chesterfield Police Department — complete with Chesterfield PD goodies!"
The department’s fun holiday challenge is meant to spread cheer and help build a friendlier connection between officers and the community. People were invited to show off their gingerbread house creations on social media, turning the activity into a playful way for police and residents to interact outside of serious situations.
Residents jumped in right away, posting photos of detailed gingerbread houses decorated with icing and candy. The comments are quickly filling up with creative and impressive designs, showing how a small, light-hearted activity can bring families together and create a warmer community vibe.
