
A tragic scene unfurled this week in the Contra Costa community when a welfare check led to the discovery of a man's death, an incident now scrutinized by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office as a homicide. Hoodline reports deputies arrived at the scene on the 5100 block of Laurel Drive in unincorporated Concord at 8:04 AM on Monday, where a resident, later identified as 38-year-old Antonio Valdez of Antioch, was found dead.
Adding to the devastation, three other individuals were discovered with injuries at the same location. They were promptly transported to a hospital for care. In a post by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, authorities specified that the altercation began as a family dispute that escalated out of control.
